Dear Families and Community Members,
Welcome to Harrison Hill School of Inquiry and Performing Arts! Our aim is to provide excellence in education in a culturally diverse environment. We believe that all students deserve equitable access to an engaging and rigorous curriculum. All students are taught to use higher order thinking skills to help them solve real world problems.
Our core curriculum is based on Indiana State Standards and is taught through a strong academic program that includes Readers and Writer's Workshop, Balanced Math, Science, Social Studies and Social Skills. Students are encouraged to be inquisitive as they question the world around them. Project Based Learning provides an avenue for them to find answers through exploration and research.
The Arts are central to our core curriculum and integrated into academic subjects. Harrison Hill students are provided opportunities to participate in Band, Orchestra, Dance/Drama, Visual Arts, Music/Choir and Media/Broadcasting. Our primary grade students are exposed to Band, Orchestra, Art, Choir and Dance. As students enter grades four through six, they choose a major arts class that allows them to target their instruction to their personal strengths and interests. They continue to rotate through the minor arts quarterly.
Harrison Hill School of Inquiry and Performing Arts is a nurturing environment that ensures the opportunity for each child to achieve success, become a productive citizen and a lifelong learner. We invite you to learn more about our amazing learning environment through our website, a school visit or a phone call. We welcome your celebrations, comments and partnership. It is my honor and privilege to work with the students, staff, parents and community members of our school. I look forward to meeting you!
