Harrison Hill offers many excellent school programs for students and their parents.
Harrison Hill School of Inquiry teachers use a Balanced Math Program. The purpose of a Balanced Math Program is to "build mathematically powerful students who can solve real-life problems, communicate their understanding to others and perform well on standardized achievement tests. " Our teachers use a series of steps to support the balanced program. They include: math review, conceptual understanding and performance tasks, problem-solving and math application, and mastery of math facts.
Our breakfast program will begin Tuesday, August 14.
Payment for breakfast will only be accepted in advance. Money will not be accepted daily!
The cost is $4.50 per week for each child. If your child is eligible for reduced meals, the cost is $1.50 per child per week.
Please put your child’s money in a sealed envelope identified with your child's name, his or her teacher's name, and amount of money. Those children eligible for free meals will receive breakfast at no charge. We must have an approved application on file in our office for the free and reduced students. NO CHARGES WILL BE ALLOWED.
4th and 5th grades have the opportunity to participate in the Harrison Hill School of Inquiry Choir. They perform several times during the school year at various functions.

Special Persons Day is a special breakfast where two family members can come and share breakfast with their child in the Harrison Hill cafeteria. Highlights include visiting with the principal and teachers.

Loving Care, a child care program, is available to Harrison Hill School of Inquiry families.
The before school care is from 6:30 to 8:20 a.m. and the after school care is from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. Caregiver to student ratio is 1:15.
Program content includes arts, crafts, games, afternoon snack, guest performances, computer lab, and homework supervision.

Students are instructed in reading that begins in a before-school learning environment. A 90-minute instructional model is used.
The session begins with a 20-minute whole-group direct instruction led by the teacher. The students then work in small group rotations for a total of 60 minutes. These 20-minute sessions are planned according to the needs of those in the group. An additional 20 minutes are used with the READ 180 software, working independently to utilize intensive, individualized practice. T
here is also an independent reading station where READ 180 paperbacks and audiobooks are available. The final 10 minutes is used as a whole-group summary.
Presentations and discussions that promote a safe and orderly environment are regularly scheduled.
Students are able to enjoy the use of this outdoor lab in their Science and classroom studies.
4th & 5th grade students are elected to serve on the council and participate in various service projects for the school and the community.
Through the OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring Program, older adults work one-on-one with children in primary grades who are experiencing reading and language difficulty.
